This past friday a man jumped the White House Fence on the North Lawn and made it inside the Home of the President before being apprehended by the Secret Service.
What!!?? Is this a real thing? How is this possible? Are we talking about the White House in D.C.?
These are many of the questions that are being asked following this scary and troublesome event. The main group (if you will) in question here is of course, the Secret Service. What were they doing to not only allow someone on the lawn but to allow them through the front doors of one of the most heavily guarded buildings in the world. As made evident by the media, they are under strict scrutiny. There have been a string of events lately that have called to question the reliability of the secret service. in spite of these events, the Secret Service has assured media outlets that they will review every aspect of the incident to ensure that proper precautions are taken.
Now, this is a serious event that could potentially effect President Obamas life forever, so how does he respond? Whether it is because he is was in Camp David for the weekend or what, he seemed not to be very concerned with the dilemma. In a statement he made, he was "completely confident" in the Secret Service and the steps and methods they will take to resolve the issue and/or occurrence. To see our leader so calm should keep us at peace but I think this situation is a little more serious than leaving it to the people that messed it up in the first place. Somebody needs to be actively resolving this and sense the Preseidents life is potentially at stake he needs to do something.
