Ferguson Getting Their Way

Well, Darren Wilson, the officer involved in the shooting and killing of Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO, has completed his resignation from the force. What i see to have been completely ridiculous has costs this man his livelihood. He was doing his job protecting the people and is being harmed for it. But that is truly besides the point of this post. Wilson has been forced to resign from the force and for the protection of the other officers on the force, he will not be receiving a severance package. This is all because of the protests.

With all the commotion regarding the incident Officer Wilson became somewhat of a political figure in the racial case. Riots have ruined the town of Furguson but the rioters are finally getting their way. They have not came to a halt because of the resignation but because Officer Wilson has stepped down the riots have extremely diminished. I don't know what lies next in Wilsons life but this situation that was brought upon him will make it so difficult for him to ever be prosperous again.

  1. I see your point about the fact that this has cost Wilson his livelihood, as he was simply doing his job. During any major altercation such as the one that took place between Wilson and Brown, there is very little time to stop and think things clearly. Wilson has stated that given the same situation happening again, whether white or black, he probably would have done the same. However I do not believe that this has eased any tension in Ferguson. Protestors have stated that they were not out for Wilson's job, but wanted justice for Brown. Now, this may be unclear to many as to what "justice" will be,short of the incarceration of Darren Wilson. I think the issue has definitely gone deeper than just the two men involved in this case, and something needs to be done to correct the perceptions of police by the Ferguson public.
